Final Testing and Arrival at the Competition 🚀
This morning, we conducted the last test of our components and encountered an unexpected issue – we stopped receiving data. After a thorough inspection, we discovered a malfunction in the Arduino Nano.
Removing the damaged module was quite challenging, as we had to apply force, causing the Arduino to break into multiple pieces. Despite this, we successfully removed the old unit and installed a new one.
With the repair completed, we set off for Postojna, making a quick stop at McDonald’s along the way. 🍔
Upon arrival, we immediately set up our workstation and started making the final adjustments before the official inspection. We are now in the final phase of preparations – the competition is just around the corner! 💪🚀
Stay tuned for more updates! 😊

Final Days Before the Competition – Last Tests! 🚀
We’re in the final two days before the competition, which means we’re in the last phase of preparations! ✅
Good news: We’ve completed the final capsule model! Now, we’re focusing on testing the software, including the GPS system and other components, to ensure everything functions flawlessly.
Additionally, we’ll be fine-tuning the parachute to guarantee the safest and most stable landing possible. Every detail matters, so we’re making sure everything runs smoothly.
The competition is just around the corner – wish us luck! 💪🚀
Stay tuned for more updates! 😊

Continued Testing: Higher Drop and Signal Range
Our team continued experimenting and this time we tested two things:
1️⃣ Dropping the previous parachute from 15m
We conducted the test from a fire tower to observe how the parachute behaves at a greater height. The goal was to assess its stability, descent speed, and braking efficiency during a longer free fall.
2️⃣ Signal range testing
We tested how far we could receive a signal on our base station. This will help us improve communication and ensure reliable data transmission between devices at different distances.
The test results provided valuable insights that will guide our future improvements.

Testing of the New Parachute
On Monday, we received a new parachute from the company Kimfly, which we tested for the first time yesterday (March 25).
For the test, we loaded the capsule to a total weight of 300 g and dropped it from the second floor (12 meters in height). This allowed us to evaluate the parachute’s stability, descent speed, and effectiveness in reducing impact force upon landing.
The results of the first test are promising, but we will conduct additional trials in the coming days to ensure optimal parachute performance.
Stay tuned for more updates!

Project Presentation at Dewesoft!
We are pleased to announce that our team visited Dewesoft, where we presented our project, Perkmandelc. We had the opportunity to showcase our satellite, which collects data, as well as the software and web components of the project that enable data analysis and visualization.
During the presentation, we demonstrated how our data processing system works, the technologies we used, and how the collected information can be applied in various fields. The Dewesoft team listened with great interest, asked insightful questions, and shared valuable insights from the world of industrial measurement technology.
The visit to Dewesoft was an incredible experience for our team, providing us with a deeper understanding of a leading company in the field of measurement systems and valuable advice for the further development of our project.
A big thank you to the Dewesoft team for their hospitality and support! We look forward to collaborating on future innovative projects.

Successful presentation of the project at the open day!
This past weekend, at the open day of the Secondary Technical and Vocational School Trbovlje, we enthusiastically presented our project, Perkmandelc. Visitors had the opportunity to learn about our innovative solution—a satellite developed for collecting data from the sky—as well as the software and web components of the project, which enable data analysis and visualization.
At our booth, we demonstrated how the software processes and visualizes satellite data. Visitors could see how we receive and analyze the data in real time. Our team members were happy to answer questions about the development process, technologies, and future possibilities of the project.
The Perkmandelc project combines modern technologies in space science and programming. You can read more about it on our website: perkmandelc.si, and find highlights from the open day at: stps-trbovlje.si.
Thank you to all visitors for your interest and support! See you soon at upcoming presentations.

Parachute re-testing – greater altitude and improved design
We are pleased to announce that we have conducted a new series of parachute tests, this time from a greater height and with an increased surface area. The goal of these tests was to evaluate how the modified parachute size affects the stability and descent speed of the capsule.
Compared to previous tests, we released the parachute from a higher altitude, allowing us to better observe its aerodynamic properties and the impact of wind conditions on the descent. The results showed that the increased surface area contributes to a more stable and slower descent, enhancing the capsule’s safety. However, we noticed some oscillations in stability, which we will address with further adjustments to the shape and materials.
Our next steps include additional testing in various weather conditions and optimizing the parachute deployment system to ensure the most precise and safe landing possible. Our team remains focused on improvements that will contribute to the overall success of the project.
Stay tuned for more updates and the results of our upcoming tests!

Parachute Testing
Our team has successfully conducted parachute testing for the project. The goal was to evaluate the parachute’s aerodynamic properties and ensure a safe descent of the capsule during the landing simulation.
We performed multiple drop tests from different heights, measuring descent speed, in-air stability, and landing accuracy. The results confirmed that the parachute functions as expected, but we identified opportunities for improvement in materials and design to enhance descent stability and capsule durability.
The next steps include further adjustments to the parachute and capsule, followed by additional testing to ensure optimal performance during the actual launch. Project Perkamdelc is progressing successfully to the next phase, and the team remains motivated and ready for new challenges.
